Vocabulary Notes

Use "mucho" to say "a lot." As an adverb, "mucho" does not change its form. Mucho as an adverb is used at the end of a verb or phrase.

Example: Nieva mucho hoy. It's snowing a lot today.

Use "mucho, mucha, muchos, muchas" to say "a lot of" or "many" as an adjective This word changes to match the gender and number of the noun being modified. Mucho and its other adjective forms are used before a noun.

Example: Hay muchas personas en la clase. There are a lot of/many people in the class.

Use "muy" to say "very" (an adverb).

DEFINITIONS

Adverbs modify adjectives, verbs, other adverbs, and whole phrases or sentences; occasionally, they can also modify a noun. Adverbs provide context in a sentence by describing how, when, where, and to what extent something occurs. Example: I eat quickly.

Adjectives modify nouns by giving descriptions or properties, qualities or states of being of nouns, including quantity (number). Excample: My meal is delicious.
